Event Terms & Conditions
- Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your registration for and participation in any event organised by The Chartered Governance Institute (“CGI Global”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
By registering for or attending an event, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not attend the event.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all CGI Global events, whether paid or free of charge, unless otherwise stated. Where a clause relates only to paid events (such as payment or refunds), it will not apply to free events.
- Booking and Payment
All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by CGI Global. Payment must be made in full prior to the event unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Prices are as stated on our website or event materials and may be subject to VAT or other applicable taxes.
- Cancellations and Refunds
If you cancel your booking, refunds will be provided only in accordance with the cancellation policy stated on the event registration page.
For details on cancellations, refunds, and transfers, please refer to our Events Cancellation Policy available on the event registration page.
- Event Changes and Force Majeure
CGI Global may make changes to the event programme, speakers, or venue where necessary.
We will not be liable for any failure or delay in fulfilling our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including but not limited to strikes, natural disasters, pandemics, or government restrictions).
- Delegate Conduct
Delegates must behave professionally and respectfully at all times during the event.
CGI Global reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any delegate whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate or disruptive.
- Photography and Recording
Events may be photographed or recorded for promotional and archival purposes.
By attending, you consent to being included in such materials. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify us in advance.
- Privacy and Data Protection
We collect and process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
For full details on how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Notice. For information on our use of cookies, please see our Cookie Policy.
Your data may be shared with event partners or sponsors only where you have given consent.
- Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties and representations, whether express or implied, that may apply to the event or any content provided.
We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising under or in connection with your participation in the event, except as set out above.
- Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms, their subject matter and formation are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the event.
